I am a survivor

Three years after my liver transplant and small-bowel obstruction operation, I am back to my normal self – a tough old boy!

Went sky-diving on my 60th birthday to celebrate life and to remember my donor.  Back to scuba diving, mountain climbing and all other activities that I used to do.

I am living my life in fullest for the second time.

I hope you can see that a full recovery IS possible.

Of course I do now have restrictions on my life.  I will have to take anti-rejection medication for the rest of my life.  This causes it's own problems as I am now more likely to develop cancer and must be careful to avoid too much sun exposure.

I will have to forsake travel to many exotic places, such as Cambodia, Peru and much of Africa.

However I can still enjoy a fantastic life.

None of which would have been possible without the GIFT OF LIFE I received from my unknown donor.

To those you are now on the waiting list, “Never, ever, give up!”, one day, you will get better!
